BikeMaps.org

BikeMaps.org is a crowdsource tool developed at the University of Victoria and used for global mapping of cycling safety incident reporting. You can use the website, or the smartphone apps, to add your own data on cycling crashes, near misses, hazards, and thefts. The data will be used for analysis of cycling safety trends and is available to the public and municipal planning and engineering departments.

Only ~30% of bike collision data are currently collected and there is no centralized reporting system. BikeMaps.org is a unique tool that let's citizens build a database by mapping their riding experience. By reporting cycling incidents, you will be assisting in providing valuable data that can be used to better cycling infrastructure as well as alert other riders in the area of potential problems.

HUB Langley supports BikeMaps.org and urges those riding in Langley to participate in the collection of information to help improve cycling in our community.

You can input data by using the website at www.bikemaps.org or with the iOS app and an Android app.
